南韓國會十七日表決通過，任命獨立檢察官組成「獨立檢察組」調查總統朴槿惠「閨密門」案件，並批准「國政調查計畫」成立委員會，研擬避免類似情況發生的對策。南韓檢方日前曾下十八日約談朴槿惠的最後通牒，但朴槿惠的代理律師柳榮夏十七日下午表示，總統將在下周配合調查接受約談。
韓聯社報導，南韓反對黨掌控的國會以一百九十六票贊成、十票反對、十四票棄權，通過啟動獨立檢察組調查總統醜聞的「獨立檢察法案」。此法案規定，兩大在野黨協商推派兩名獨立檢察官候選人，讓總統任命其中一人為獨立檢察官。獨立檢察官最多可調集廿名檢察官等共六十名公務員查案，時限為九十天，若經總統同意可再延長卅天。另外，依據「國政調查計畫」成立的「國會國調特委會」將調查閨密門六十天，必要時可延長卅日，討論如何避免類似情況發生。
朴槿惠的代理律師柳榮夏十七日發表聲明表示，「我將竭盡所能儘快準備辯護，配合檢方並確保總統下周接受調查」。南韓檢方原定十五或十六日約談朴槿惠，後將時限放寬至十八日，如今柳榮夏又再拖延至下周。
百萬憤怒南韓國民上周末遊行示威要求朴槿惠引咎辭職，但青瓦台表示總統無此打算。南韓反對黨揚言若總統堅持不下台將推動罷免，但遲遲沒有動作，因為反對黨擔心引起保守派選民反彈，影響明年總統大選。
